About

The natural-light photographer behind Lumière.

Behind the Lens

Hi, I’m Élise — and I’ve never met a golden hour I didn’t love.

I started Lumière in 2015 with a film camera, a battered notebook of locations, and a belief that the best photographs are the ones that feel like the moment, not a performance of it.

I’m drawn to soft light, honest emotion, and the small in-between moments — the way your dad’s eyes go glassy, the laugh between vows, the quiet squeeze of a hand. My job is to be present enough to catch them and invisible enough that they still happen.

I live in Denver’s RiNo district, photograph weddings across Colorado’s mountains and gardens, and happily travel wherever your story takes you. When I’m not shooting, you’ll find me hiking with my dog or chasing light on a back road somewhere.

What Guides My Work

A few things I believe.

Natural light, always

I shoot the light that’s already there — soft, warm, and true to the moment. No harsh flash, no artificial scenes.

Unposed, gently guided

You won’t get a four-hour posing session. You’ll get gentle prompts and the space to just be together.

Editorial, but timeless

A consistent, warm-neutral edit that looks as right in 30 years as it does today. No trendy filters that age badly.

A calm presence

Wedding days are busy enough. I’m the calm in the background — anticipating, never rushing, always kind.

The In-Between

I’m there for the moments you’ll forget you had.

The big moments take care of themselves — the kiss, the first dance, the vows. What I really chase is everything around them: the nervous laugh, the whispered aside, the way your people look at you when you’re not looking back.

Those are the frames couples tell me they return to most. So that’s where I point the camera.
